The National Library for the Disabled was established around the enforcement of the revised Library Act in 2012 by expanding the National Library Support Center, which had been in operation since 2007.In order for disabled people living in the information age to secure equal opportunities with people without disabilities in their daily lives, education, employment, social participation, and cultural enjoymentThe ability to access and use knowledge information is paramount.To break down physical barriers by installing various convenience facilities so that disabled people can freely use roads and buildings, including various library materialsThe barriers to information should be removed so that the knowledge and information system can be accessed.

The National Library for the Disabled is committed to breaking down the barriers facing 2.5 million disabled people in Korea in accessing and using knowledge information

We will establish and implement a national policy for the service of the disabled in the library.
We will collect, produce, and organize various library materials for the disabled.
We will cooperate closely with domestic and foreign libraries and related organizations.

Please actively use the newly launched National Library for the Disabled and the website of the library. We also ask for constructive proposals and continuous interest for the development of the National Library for the Disabled.
